Fours weeks have gone by extremely quickly! Or at least the last three weeks because I remember thinking that the Christmas week went by slower than the others for some reason. It feels like I just got here, and just a few days ago we drove from Sydney up to Newcastle.
It has certainly been a more quiet holiday since we’ve just relaxed at home most of the time. However, we’ve also done some fun stuff and visited lots of places, as well as driven around soooo much. I have basically met my boyfriend’s whole family which has been super nice and exciting and I haven’t even embarrassed myself! We have been to Sydney twice, first for a mini holiday and then to inspect a few apartments since he’s moving there next week. We visited Central Coast a few times to meet family, celebrate a 99th birthday and to meet some friends. We also took another mini holiday in Hunter Valley, spent a few days at a nearby beach, as well as visited a nature reserve to see koalas and kangaroos. Otherwise, my time here has been about finding the best mocha in town, reading, eating, working out and doing as many puzzles as I can.
Two weeks ago we started a fitness challenge to get back on track and into a routine. First I was the one who was more excited and trying to motivate my boyfriend to do it with me but after a few days we switched roles and now he’s the one trying to get me moving. Still, it has been fun and I can see it’s becoming more of a routine to work out almost daily. One thing I’ll certainly miss about Australia, is being able to do yoga outside and not wear 50 layers of clothes for a run. It’s so relaxing to roll out my mat and flow in the sunshine with a nice breeze and birds singing in the trees above me.
Anywho, another 24-hour traveling day ahead of me, before spending two days in Austria and heading back to freezing Finland. It’s crazy how bittersweet it always is to leave my boyfriend on the other side of the world and yet be so excited to see my family and friends again.
