We took a mini holiday from my holiday this week and headed to Hunter Valley from Wednesday to Friday. Hunter Valley Wine Country is a region in NSW and it consists of numerous wineries. You could spend there days tasting wines and eating in fine dining restaurants. There are so many beautiful places to stay at as well as 150 cellar doors in the area so you really have variety (and a much lighter wallet afterwards).
We stayed in a nice themed suite next to a vineyard. The plus side was a big spa in the middle of the living room with a view over the vineyard. The minus sides on the other hand were people walking by the living room window and spider webs everywhere.
The purpose of the holiday was to celebrate my boyfriend’s 30th birthday as well as enjoy some of the best wines in Australia. On Thursday we started our day by walking to a near-by cafe and enjoyed cups of mochas in the beautiful scenery. After that we visited two cellar doors and a cheese shop and accidentally ended up spending way too much money. On Thursday night we also had a big dinner in a steak house and visited Hunter Valley Gardens to admire its Christmas Lights Spectacular. I think it would be so much fun to visit the region with a group of friends, stay in a villa and just go around from a vineyard to vineyard by bikes our a wine tour bus.
